"To the Native Americans, Spider is Grandmother, the link to the past and future. In India it's associated with Maya, the weaver of illusions. With its gentle strength, Spider spins together the threads of life with intricate webs.Spider knows that the past affects the future and vise versa. It calls us to make use of our creativity and weave our dreams into our destiny."
Someone I hadn't heard from in six months called me today. Somone I once counted on as a friend, who abandoned me when it suited them. Now it's suited them to try and show back up.
But I'm past the stage in my life where my need to be a caregiver to the point of my own needs being ignored is over with. When the conversation was over with I found a little black spider crawling across my arm and was reminded of the passage above.
Sometimes when you can feel yourself hitting bottom and yet things just keep getting worse you're provided with little reminders like that. It helps me to know the Goddess is listening and that this all just another spin in The Wheel.
